According to accounts left behind by settlers, Palm Beach got its name from a shipwreck that was called Providencia. The ship washed to shore with a large amount of coconuts in 1878. In the backyard, you can explore the private railroad car that has been restored and refurbished. It takes at least an hour and a half to tour the entire house and grounds on a self-guided tour.
